A life-long appreciation of Mark Rothko's work and recent study of Sterling Ruby's techniques led Dines to create this street-style color field painting, hiding the name of the artwork in the painting itself.  This artwork is the first in a series of pieces that Dines is creating for a future exhibition.

Dines used warm, tonal colors, blended and overlapping, to evoke the calm, soothing warmth of a perfect summer day.

Dines experimented with layering and manipulating poured paint to create the appearance of a city grid.  This particular painting is a nod to the isthmus that separates two lakes in Downtown Madison, WI.

Layering and manipulating poured paint, Dines continued her exploration of this technique, attempting to convey a city grid awash in vibrant orange, fuchsia and gold.

Taking inspiration from a recent visit to Sedona, Arizona, Dines employed multiple layers of orange, red, anthracite and bronze to achieve a radiant effect.

Using freight trains in urban environments as a subject, Dines attempts to bring the functionality of a rail car to the forefront by capturing close-in, architectural details of the car's form.

Dines and Gutierrez collaborated to create a work as a tribute to her Mom's 80th birthday.  Gutierrez painted a neutral base coat, then Dines completed the piece by layering vibrant primary colors to create a celebratory tone, commemorating the milestone.
